Social Skills
At Hand Over Hand, we believe an autism diagnosis should never limit a child’s opportunity to learn alongside peers, build friendships, and feel included. Our programs place a strong emphasis on peer interaction and real-world social skill development.
Guided group activities build the give-and-take skills children need to form real connections with peers.
Predictable, supportive environments where children feel safe to try, stumble, and succeed.
Replacement behaviors and coping strategies that reduce anxiety in social moments.
Skills developed in our groups carry directly into classrooms, friendships, and everyday life.
Developing Social Skills
Small groups are thoughtfully organized by age and current developmental level to ensure each child feels comfortable and appropriately challenged. Groups are available during the day and after school, giving families flexible options that fit into their schedule. Together, children practice and strengthen the skills necessary to develop and maintain rewarding peer relationships.

Our work is shaped by more than clinical training, it’s shaped by lived experience and a deeper level of empathy, patience, and insight into every interaction.
Combined with years of professional expertise in ABA therapy, it allows us to approach each child with both knowledge and heart.
Families often tell us they feel seen and understood, and that’s exactly the intention.
