SCHOOL SUPPORT & CONSULTATION
Expert behavioral support for schools and families.
Hand Over Hand provides professional consultation services for school districts seeking behavioral expertise and guidance for families navigating the school process.
For School Districts
Bringing behavioral expertise directly to your school district.
School districts face increasing demands to support students with complex behavioral and developmental needs, often with limited internal resources and growing caseloads. Hand Over Hand partners with special education teams to provide the behavioral expertise that helps districts better serve their students and strengthen their staff.
Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts bring extensive experience working within school environments. We understand the structure and demands of special education and the importance of recommendations that are both evidence-based and practical to implement.
How we support your district
Whether you need support for a specific student, guidance around behavioral programming, or professional development for your team, Hand Over Hand provides expert and objective recommendations grounded in applied behavior analysis.
Our district services include:
A collaborative approach to student outcomes.
We work alongside your special education staff, classroom teachers, and administrators to develop recommendations that are realistic and focused on what’s best for the student. Our BCBAs are experienced communicators who understand how to present findings and recommendations in a way that is clear and actionable for every member of your team.
Professional development that builds lasting capacity.
One of the most valuable things an outside consultant can do is leave your team stronger. Our training sessions are tailored to the needs of your district and staff. We cover topics such as behavior management strategies, understanding and responding to challenging behaviors, and implementing consistent support across classroom settings.
When your staff feels more confident and prepared, students benefit.
For Families
Helping you navigate your child's school journey.
School plays an important role in a child’s growth and development, but understanding the support systems within it can often feel overwhelming. Whether your child is newly entering the system or you are working through changes to an existing plan, Hand Over Hand is here to help families feel informed and supported, every step of the way.
Our school-based support and consultation services are rooted in collaboration. By working closely with families, educators, and educational teams, we help create consistency across environments while ensuring children are receiving the guidance they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Our services may include:
Understanding IEPs & 504 Plans
Students who qualify for an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Plan are legally entitled to specific supports, accommodations, and services within the school setting. These plans are designed to help ensure children have access to an educational environment that supports their individual academic, developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs.
An IEP provides specialized instruction and related services for students who qualify under special education guidelines, while a 504 Plan offers accommodations and support to help students access their learning environment more successfully.
At Hand Over Hand, we help families better understand what these plans mean for their child, what supports may be appropriate, and how to advocate for meaningful services within the school setting. Our goal is not only to provide clarity around the special education process, but to help families feel more empowered within it.
Providing Support Before, During & After School Meetings
From annual reviews and eligibility meetings to behavioral planning discussions, meetings with parents and school districts happen regularly and often feel fast-paced and filled with unfamiliar terminology, recommendations, and processes.
With decades of experience participating in these conversations, we help families prepare with greater clarity and confidence. Working alongside parents, we can help organize concerns, review recommendations, identify important questions to ask, and better understand the supports being proposed.
Our role is to help ensure your child’s needs remain at the center of every conversation.
