ABA Therapy Shaped Around Your Child’s Needs

For more than 12 years, Hand Over Hand has provided individualized ABA therapy built around each child’s strengths and needs. Our team takes the time to understand where challenges occur and which skills could make everyday experiences easier.

Children receive therapy in a dedicated classroom where they can learn alongside peers in a familiar preschool setting. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) meets with your family and completes a comprehensive assessment before developing personalized treatment recommendations.

Complex skills are broken into smaller, manageable steps. Children are given opportunities to learn through direct instruction, play, movement, and everyday classroom experiences.

Families receiving ABA therapy through Hand Over Hand can expect:

  • A Plan Based on the Individual Child — Recommendations reflect your child’s current skills, interests, challenges, and family circumstances.
  • Useful Areas of Development — Sessions may address communication, self-care, play, flexibility, safety, learning, and social participation.
  • Clinical Direction From a BCBA — A Board Certified Behavior Analyst develops the program, monitors results, and guides the therapy team.
  • Care Across Different Environments — Services may be available in the home school, or at one of ou nearby preschool-based centers.
  • Activities With a Clear Purpose — Teaching methods are selected according to how your child responds and which skills are being developed.
  • Ongoing Family Communication — Parents and caregivers receive updates and have opportunities to discuss priorities and concerns.

Meet Our Regional Director

Samantha Faulks

Hi! I’m Sam, and I am a Regional Director at Hand Over Hand! I graduated from Kean University in 2014 with a Special Education degree and received my master’s in ABA through Monmouth University. Along with teaching, I worked as a behavior therapist for Hand Over Hand and grew within the company. In 2021, I started at our Morristown Center full time as a BCBA and continued to grow! I love being part of the team and working with the Hand Over Hand family. When I am not working, I am a recent mom of two and love spending time with my two children and my dog. I also love to travel with my family!

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Hand Over Hand operate an ABA center in Livingston?

Hand Over Hand provides services in Livingston but doesn’t have an Integrated ABA Center in the township at this time. We do have a location at Growing Seeds Learning Academy in Chatham, NJ. Depending on your child’s needs and availability of our services, therapy can take place at home, daycare, school, or a location nearby.

A BCBA completes an assessment and speaks with the family about the child’s abilities, routines, challenges, and priorities. The findings are then used to recommend treatment areas, weekly hours, and an appropriate service setting.

Home-based care may be available depending on the assessment, clinical recommendation, staffing, scheduling, and insurance approval. Therapy can focus on communication, self-care, play, and routines that naturally occur at home.

In-daycare treatment may be considered in situations in which the environment is important to the treatment of the child and the daycare center allows treatment by external clinicians.

Treatment may address requesting help, following routines, playing independently or with others, managing transitions, completing personal care tasks, participating at school, and responding more safely in difficult situations.

The BCBA recommends weekly hours after reviewing the assessment findings, the number of areas being addressed, the child’s current level of independence, and the environments where care may be needed.

Parents help identify priorities, share observations from home, attend progress discussions, and learn strategies that may be useful during regular family routines. Their feedback can also help the clinical team decide when changes are needed.

The BCBA reviews the child’s performance throughout care. Objectives, teaching methods, and service recommendations may be revised when progress develops, difficulties arise, or family priorities change.

The therapy team tracks specific responses and skills during sessions. The BCBA reviews this information alongside family feedback to determine whether the child is progressing and whether the current methods remain useful.

Hand Over Hand works with several insurance companies. Benefits and authorization rules depend on the individual plan, diagnosis, and proposed treatment. Our intake team can verify coverage and explain the information provided by your insurer.

The start date depends on the completion of paperwork, assessment approval, appointment availability, treatment authorization, staffing, and scheduling. Your Family Liaison will provide updates as each stage is completed.

Some children may receive ABA therapy in more than one setting when clinically recommended and authorized. Your BCBA can discuss whether home, daycare, school, or center-based services may be appropriate.
