Full-Time ABA Therapist (multiple locations)

DESCRIPTION

Hand Over Hand is seeking qualified ABA therapists for our center-based programs throughout NJ. Using applied behavior analysis, therapists will work with the BCBA to administer therapy for clients, collaborate on session planning, and administer parent training—help our clients develop better social and life skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants should possess a strong work ethic and high level of commitment.
  • Familiarity with online data collection, specifically Central Reach is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The therapist must be capable of bending and crouching down to assist the learner with toileting and self-help skills
  • The therapist must be able to sit and play on the floor with the child
  • Utilizes motivation systems and implements behavior support plans
  • Uses electronic data collection and manages data portal
  • Assists with the arrival and dismissal of assigned student(s)
  • Supports assigned student(s) throughout the school day
  • Contributes to the development of instructional and behavior reduction programs initiated by the BCBA
  • Reports emergencies and injuries as per HOH policies and procedures
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings and trainings
  • Ensures proper maintenance of classroom and other areas of the facility
  • Multi-tasks and sustains attention for extended periods of time
  • Demonstrates competency with implementing principles of applied behavior analysis in the presence of a variety of stakeholders (e.g., parents, administrators, visitors)
  • Reacts appropriately to crisis situations
  • Demonstrates professionalism in the areas of physical appearance, language use, and receipt of feedback
  • Provides physical support to students
  • Obtains and maintains HWC certification
  • Oral and written proficiency with English
  • Proficiency with using a variety of computer systems (PC, Mac, iPad)

*The Behavior Therapist position requires that the employee be physically able to handle the learner at all times, especially during times of non-compliance.
